Marcella’s nominator says “Marcella is one of the most caring and passionate people I know. She Was diagnosed with congenital muscular dystrophy when she was born and has overcome so much in her life. She is now 26 years old and lives a very independent yet social life. She is so driven when she has something in mind to get done. Nothing stops her from reaching her goals and dreams. She inspires me every day to be a better person to the environment, COMMUNITY, and love people in Such a compassionate way. She advocates for others with disabilities of All kinds and just loves people in general! I’ve never met someone I could meet more easily and get along with. I nominate Marcella because She’s been dreaming for this moment for years and has been a previous Nominator for other sweet princesses. She embodies ALL that a princess has: grace, beauty, strength, wisdom, and loyalty. Making her dream come true would mean the world!“
From Heather: So Marcella has indeed nominated other girls for the Memorial Princess event, which I think is amazing. She’s an adult that loves fairies and dressing up and is definitely qualified and yet here she is making sure other people get their fairy sessions instead. Marcella’s session was pretty laid back.. we just walked through the neighborhood where my studio is because it’s also the same neighborhood she lives in. Super cool. She also knows EVERYONE there, and all the pretty yards to take pictures in.. because she’s talked to the homeowners before and gotten permission to come see their gardens. It was amazing. Marcella needs a constant supply of oxygen, which is attached to her chair and a soft tube that wraps around her nose. We took it off for a few pictures as well, but having met her first with it on, it looked strange. Like a person who wears glasses.. when they take them off they no longer look like themselves! I think my best and worst part of the session was when I showed her the back of the camera for a picture and she CRIED. I felt so bad but she cried because she says “I don’t ever feel pretty and I do today.” That about undid me. Because she IS gorgeous.

Beautiful! Marcella is such an amazingly outgoing and wonderful person! These pictures truly capture her whimsical and charming personality. I am blessed to be able to have met her at multiple trainings at UGA and share some cheese fries with her, too. Athens and UGA is so lucky to have her as part of our community.
