My brother’s wife and my sister were both recently pregnant at the same time. My brother’s wife delivered my new niece and my sister delivered my new nephew about a month later. I went all the way to Seattle to do photos for him and help out for a little bit. I took my traveling studio and a bunch of outfits with me for some adorable pictures. My sister had some very firm ideas on what she wanted and he was certainly the smiliest baby that I’ve photographed in a while!
As a sidenote, I have no idea how new parents get anything done. I was out there for about a week and I took over some early morning feedings because I was still on Eastern time instead of Seattle time, and I was exhausted. I have no idea how parents do anything because the entire day schedule revolved around this tiny person and his needs. The day went so fast and we got so much of absolutely nothing accomplished. You would think that just letting the baby sleep and doing other things would be possible, but it’s really not.
