Meet Grace! Grace was nominated last year for my memorial princess event, but the early freeze not all of our flowers and leaves down so we opted for a spring session instead.
Grace’s nominator writes: Grace was born On January 5, 2011. It was not known that Grace had any heart problems until March 26, 2014 when it was discovered she had an enlarged heart. She was then rushed to children’s healthcare of atlanta where she was diagnosed with an extremely rare heart condition known as restrictive cardiomyopathy. Grace Spent the next 300 days at Eggelston hospital in atlanta waiting on a heart transplant to save her lIfe. Grace received her new heart on her 4th birthday from an unknown donor. Grace is currently 11 years old and in 5th grade. She is a wonderful older sister to her younger siblings. Being a recipient of a heart transplant has it’s daily challenges for Grace and her family (especially during covid) but we are all so thankful for the donor’s family and helping to save Grace’s life with that precious heart. Grace would ABSOLUTELY love the opportunity for a photoshoot. She loves to have fun and has such an outgoing personality.
From Heather: Grace was such a delight to meet. She is very intelligent and didn’t fall for any of my stupid tricks. But the garden was beautiful and the light was mellow this evening, and it was absolutely perfect. She spent some time running all over the place while her mama and I watched. I love her in green. She has so much thick hair that I ended up really loving a few where she’s running around and her hair is blowing in the wind.
