I recently went up to see my mother in South Carolina for the first time since Covid. My sister, her husband, and my new nephew also came to stay with us while I was there. We had a nice little family reunion. I definitely had to do pictures of the baby while I was there! We planned three little mini sessions: family pictures at the airport where my sister built a museum display, then simple white pictures of the baby in the bed, and then outdoor pictures in the fall leaves as well.
My nephew is certainly a busy baby at 10 months old and he really hates being held. He would rather be walking around and exploring. I expected the bed pictures would be the hardest because he would need to stay in one place. We had my sister on one side of the bed, her husband on the other side, and me at the end taking pictures. I figured between the three of us we could corral the baby enough. Then I would make a bunch of noise and get him looking at the camera. It would be hectic, but we will get it done.
Instead, what happened was that we put him down, I made a bunch of noises… and he sat there quietly while laughing at me. I got everything I needed in under 10 minutes. It was a total miracle and he is a complete model.
