Fall Family Photos in Georgia
Fall is hands down the most popular season for outdoor family photos. The weather cools off, the light turns warm and soft, and the leaves around Athens start showing off in every shade of red, orange, and gold. It’s a great time for cozy outfits, real smiles, and colorful backgrounds.
Some favorite spots: UGA’s North Campus, Sandy Creek Park, and the State Botanical Garden of Georgia.
What to know: October and November dates go quickly. I usually recommend booking by July or August to lock in your spot.
Spring Sessions in Athens
Spring feels like a fresh start. Flowers bloom, the grass turns green again, and the whole town starts to feel brighter. This is when I do my Fairy Mini Sessions, but it’s also great for maternity, family, or kid portraits.

What to know: Spring mini sessions sell out fast. If you’re hoping for March or April, try to book in January or February.

Winter in Georgia is quiet and simple, with soft light and a calmer pace. It’s not the first season most people think of for photos, but it can be perfect for studio portraits, indoor lifestyle sessions, or even cozy outdoor photos on those clear, chilly days. Holiday-themed sessions work well here, too.
What to know: Dates are usually easier to grab, but if you’re hoping for holiday cards, booking in early fall is a smart move.
