Heather,
While I only had the pleasure of knowing Ava Jane for a brief time, I am glad to see that her wonderful spirit is living on through such magical gifts as this. That being said I would like to nominate our adopted daughters Luz and Zoe for the upcoming fairy princess session.
Luz was brought into foster care when she was 15 months with two broken legs and multiple healed broken bones due to abuse she suffered from her mother’s boyfriend. She had to learn to walk again and she didn’t speak until she was 2 1/2. After which she was returned home to her birthmother and boyfriend only to be brought back to us in December because she was abused again by the boyfriend. I will never forget the day she walked back up to us at the DFCS’s Christmas party and said “I’m home daddy” and she kept saying how much she missed us and loved us. There was not a dry eye at our table, even the caseworkers were crying. After a lot of hard work with Babies Can’t Wait she completely recovered even to the point she constantly walks on her tiptoes because she is a “real” princess. She also suffered the loss of her brother being returned home after we had picked him up from the hospital and being with us for two years. And once again, we have managed to overcome by mentoring her birth mother and keeping a relationship with her to be able to see her brother and for her birth mother to still be a part of Luz’s life.
Zoe is a different heartbreak. Being born as the 6th child to an unwed mother, Zoe was not planned nor wanted. her mother didn’t receive prenatal care with her and also drank heavily, so Zoe was born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS). She may not have a terminal illness but is on a long road ahead with a lifelong condition that can never be cured. But, this doesn’t stop her from being perfect in our eyes.
Because our beautiful girls have endured so much but continue to fight on we would love for them to have a chance at being in a fairy tale dream come true for a day!!!
Thank you so much

This is actually not the first time I have photographed these girls, but I never ever knew how much they’d been through because they’re all smiles. Big girl Luz was telling me all about it, as if it’d happened to someone else. She just is so happy where she is and with her life right now, the past doesn’t even matter to her!
