Her nominator writes: Paisley is my granddaughter. She turned 4 in January this year. Even before she was born we learned she was a downs baby. My daughter, Kelly and her husband, Michael, chose not to terminate the pregnancy. The pregnancy was a surprise in that they hadn’t planned to have another child. (They had married the year before, Kelly with three children and Michael had four.)
Paisley was born in January of 2021. Paisley was also diagnosed with a hole in her heart and had to stay in the hospital for a while. I may be slightly prejudiced but when she finally came home I immediately fell in love. She was beautiful. It is a joy to be with her. She lights up a room. Every picture and video my daughter sends me brightens my day. Watching her grow up this four plus years has been such a treat. She is funny, very observant, Loves her siblings parents and other family members, loves food, riding in the car, and pre-k.
Heather’s thoughts: Paisley gives the absolute best hugs. I got one whlie I was helping change her into this gorgeous dress and her little arms wrapped around my shoulders was heart melting. She’s non-verbal but that doesn’t mean silent. Paisley has a whole range of sounds she treated me to from blowing raspberries to clicking and the odd vocalization in there as well. She’s absolutley adorable.
