Audrey’s nominator writes: Audrey is a sweet and a head strong little girl. She has the best sense of humor and has a laugh that instantly puts you in a good mood. Audrey had dealt with symptoms that had impacted her daily over the last several years. She’s spent countless hours with doctors, physical and occupational therapists to figure out what was going on. Through her ENT she did a sleep study in February of 2022 which showed she had a severe Central Sleep Apnea and they were urged to get an MRI to see what was going on. The mri is what found the tumor on her brain stem. This was heart shattering news, but gave answers to the things she was dealing with. It also opened the door to so much unknown. She had a week long hospital stay, brain surgery to get a biopsy, and SOMEHOW managed to stay her silly self! She began treatment in October 2022 and is still currently in treatment. She was only 6 when diagnosed and has handled this journey better than ever imagined. She faces challenges every single day and still pushes herself to do her absolute best. She has continued going to school, making new friends, and is always wanting to try new things. She is starting dance soon which is new but she can’t wait for the challenge of trying something new. Its hard knowing she has to be so strong at such a young age, but her perseverance is incredible. I know this opportunity will give her confidence and make her feel so special which is why I am nominating Audrey! Thank you for doing this every year. Heather’s thoughts: ‘Silly self’ is the understatement of the year. This kid is a bouncy box of giggles and light. I laughed through this whole evening. She’s just hilarious. She lives out lous in the best way possible. I asked “Oh you’re taking dance? Can you show me some dance moves you like?” and got this photo:
